In summary. Concrete pools require bonding of everything conductive within arm’s reach (1.25m) of the pool’s edge that are in contact with the general mass of earth including the reinforcing mesh, pool steel fencing, glass fencing and metal ladders.
A Fibreglass pool only requires conductive fittings within arm’s reach of the pool’s edge that are in contact with the general mass of earth to be bonded where either points 1 or 2 above are met and the exposed conductive parts of electrical equipment are installed within the pool zones (3.5 meters). If the exposed electrical equipment (pump motor or light fittings) are further than 3.5 meters from the fibreglass pool’s edge. then no bonding of conductive parts is required.

Yes – our aluminium fencing systems are engineered for DIY. No licence required for non-structural fencing in QLD. Most installs take a weekend with basic tools. We provide step-by-step guides and live support throughout your install via phone and chat.
For like-for-like replacement of an existing pool barrier, a building approval is generally not required – provided the new fence meets current QLD standards (minimum 1200mm, AS 1926.1 compliant). New pools or layout changes may require council approval. All our pool fencing is compliant.
